High Point is located in the center of the state of North Carolina in the Piedmont Triad region. The Piedmont Triad consists of 12 counties and the urban centers are High Point, Winston-Salem and Greensboro. The region has over 1.6 million people and represents the 37^th largest metro area in America.
The Triad has experienced extraordinary growth in recent years as the economy is transitioning from its manufacturing base. Entrepreneur magazine rated the High Point/Greensboro/Winston-Salem area as the fourth best area in America to start a business.
