A 2013 Duke University study found that the High Point Market generates more than $5.39 billion in economic impact to the overall regional economy (the counties within a 75-mile radius from downtown High Point, including counties in Virginia).

FedEx is the world's largest express transportation company, providing fast and reliable delivery to more than 220 countries and territories. FedEx chose the Piedmont Triad region for its one-million-square foot Mid-Atlantic Air Hub (which opened in June 2009) and its 415,000-square foot "super hub" ground sorting facility (which opened in 2011). The FedEx Mid-Atlantic Hub is located on the grounds of Piedmont Triad International Airport, which is less than a mile from the High Point city limits. It is the carrier’s fifth major U.S. hub, serving destinations around the world. Packages originating on the East Coast for East Coast delivery will be handled through the Piedmont Triad hub.
Founded in 1924 High Point University is a fast-growing nationally respected private liberal arts institution with a world-class campus that offers 46 undergraduate majors, 46 undergraduate minors and 11 graduate-degree programs. High Point University is making the university's academic offerings even stronger and more prestigious with the addition of the Congdon School of Health Sciences and the Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy. Collectively, the School of Health Sciences and the School of Pharmacy will create a cornerstone for medical-related innovation at HPU.
High Point University has achieved a lot in the last decade: $275 million dollars raised, record enrollment, 50 new or acquired buildings for academics, athletics and residency, 21 building renovations, plus countless improvements around campus. Today, there are multiple active construction sites including the Center for Student Success, the School of Health Sciences and Pharmacy, and the Centennial Square Residential Complex. Additional new construction planned for the next six years includes a sports arena and convention center, library, undergraduate science building, admissions center, and residential facilities.

Laurel University (formally John Wesley College) was founded in 1903 in downtown Greensboro for the express purpose of educating ministers to teach the Bible to the world. Throughout the College’s 75 years, it maintained a strong Bible curriculum, founded in Wesleyan principles and decades to graduating ministers of distinction. In 1978 they moved to High Point. The University added a bachelor’s degree in management in 1993 with master and doctoral degrees over the past five years. Today, Laurel University is a vibrant institution of over 200 students registered for traditional and online degrees of all levels. A recent national poll for Christian college counseling degree ranked Laurel sixth among all institutions. A New York foundation seeking support for under privileged student preparing for college has just place Laurel on its elite list of 100 schools.
Guilford Technical Community College celebrated an exciting chapter in the college’s history in April 2015 with the official unveiling of the new Center for Creative and Performing Arts Theatre. Located on the High Point campus, the Center for Creative and Performing Arts Theatre will serve as an additional teaching lab and performance space for students.
Convenient access to a broad network of interstate and other highways, Piedmont Triad International Airport, rail services, deep water ports, the new FedEx Mid-Atlantic Hub, and the new FedEx Ground facility gives High Point USA the advantage as a regional and national transportation hub. High Point's Piedmont Triad region boasts five interstate highways, four of which run through High Point.

Regional and continental rail freight services are provided by Norfolk Southern and CSX. Passenger rail service by Amtrak provides daily service to Charlotte and Raleigh, NC, and New York, NY.
Piedmont Triad International Airport, has 59 non-stop passenger flights per day and a multi-model air cargo facility with virtually all major trucking lines operating terminals near the airport.
The NC State Ports Authority operates an inland terminal just outside High Point's city limits. Containers are transported to deep water ports in Wilmington and Morehead City, NC. Ports in Charleston, SC; Savannah, GA; and Norfolk, VA; also serve the area.
Amtrak's Crescent, Carolinian and Piedmont trains connect High Point with the cities of New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, Richmond, Raleigh, Charlotte, Atlanta, Birmingham and New Orleans.
QUALITY OF LIFE
Hike, bike or jog along High Point’s Bicentennial Greenway, or go to the mountains for backpacking, rock climbing and rappelling, fish in a secluded mountain stream, snow ski down an Appalachian Mountain or hand glide over a sand dune at Kitty Hawk, paddle boat at High Point City Lake, tube the Dan River or paddle a kayak through whitewater in the Nantahala National Forest. North Carolina has 600 golf courses and High Point has four, including Pete Dye-designed Oak Hollow. There are 50 more courses in the immediate area.
Get into the college sports season with the High Point University Panthers, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, NC A&T Aggies, and UNCG Spartans. Home arenas for the Duke Blue Devils, NC State Wolfpack and UNC Tarheels are all within a 90-minute drive from High Point.
Visit one of six NASCAR tracks in and around High Point’s Piedmont Triad region. NASCAR Nextel Cup owners Richard Childress Racing in Welcome and the Richard Petty Museum in Randleman invite you to tour their facilities in High Point’s Piedmont Triad Region.
The High Point Theatre, a year-round performing and visual arts complex owned and operated by the City of High Point. The complex represents one of the nation's first cooperative ventures among municipal government, private enterprise, and the arts. Touring artists provide a wide range of stage performances to patrons in a 965-seat auditorium. High Point’s Theatre Art Galleries occupies three large exhibition galleries in the theatre complex.
Visit the Hayworth Fine Arts Center on the High Point University campus. Inspired by Her Majesty’s Theatre in London, the center of the building is a 500-seat performance hall, home to the University Tower Players. The state-of-the-art venue hosts a variety of performances presented by touring artists. The east wing of the Arts Center is the permanent home of the Darrell Sechrest Gallery of Art and also features touring art exhibits.
Enjoy any one of 35 community and neighborhood parks plus five recreation centers located throughout the City of High Point. City Lake Park covers 969 acres and includes boat rides, miniature golf, a miniature train ride, merry-go-round, water slide, and a 230' x 165' cross-shaped swimming pool.
